Professional Involvement

ASIS&T ♦ WLA

ASIS&T-University of Washington

I held the office of Director of Finance for the University of Washington student Chapter of the American Society of Information Science and Technology (ASIS&T) in 2008-2009 and am currently an active member in ASIS&T's Seattle chapter. As Financial Director I was a primary fundraiser and managed resources for ASIS&T-sponsored functions, as well as planned and organized ASIS&T-sponsored events. These activities included organizing a panel discussion and managing publicity for the 2009 iEdge Conference.

Washington Library Association- Reference Interest Group (RIG)
I am an active member of the Washington Library Association. I attended the 2008 Washington Library Association/Oregon Library Association joint conference in Vancouver, WA and volunteered as a session coordinator for a panel discussion on virtual reference services. My work with RIG has been largely oriented towards raising the organization's profile through on-campus classroom presentations and designing and organizing the Reference Trivia Challenge at Cafe Racer
